Welcome Home will have two free events next week, including a class and open house.
Barbara Karnes' video, New Rules for End of Life Care, will be shown online Tuesday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. followed by a question and answer session. This multi award winning film teaches people how to care for their loved one at the end of life. This is part of Welcome Home's enrichment program, Demystifying Death, that provides opportunities for individuals to learn and talk about death and dying. The goal is to help the community feel more at ease when facing end of life issues. Visit www.wewlcomehomeofchattanooga.org/events to register.
The monthly open house will be on Thursday from 5:30-7 p.m. This is a time to tour the new Welcome Home, hear more about its mission and ways to help. There are many ways to help including the Companion Program for residents and one another, the Weekend Team, Dinner Club, Garden Club and fundraising.
For those who want to be Companions, Welcome Home provides special end of life care training. Please contact Sherry at sherry@welcomehomeofchattanooga or call 355-5842 to register or for questions.
The tour begins at 5:45 p.m., then hear about ways to get involved and answer questions. Light refreshments are provided.
