Bold And Courageous Leadership

  • Thursday, May 26, 2022

As I sat in Finley Stadium last Friday to witness Howard's graduation ceremony, I was stunned to see selfish adults engaging in discord versus celebrating the graduates on the field.

I initially thought the disruption would have caused the ceremony to end and shatter the once in a lifetime moment for the 250 mostly first generation graduates, but I was completely wrong.

What I witnessed next was nothing short of astonishing as their Executive Principal, Dr. Le Andrea Ware, stood firmly on the stage and declared victory for every graduate before her. She did not let the disruption stand in the way or take away from those deserving students.

Her bold and courageous way of handling that situation was an example of remarkable leadership and reminded over 4,000 people of the real reason for the season.

Hats off to Dr. Ware, the Howard School faculty, staff, and every 2022 Hustlin' Tiger graduate.

Despite the attempt to cast a negative light on your day, you all beamed as bright as a shiny diamond. Keep up the good work, we are proud of you.
