James Edward “Eddie” Freudenberg
James Edward “Eddie” Freudenberg, 69, passed away peacefully Thursday night at Siskin/St. Barnabas where he’d been a resident since April 2008.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Norma Freudenberg.
Eddie is survived by his brother, Earl Freudenberg (Julie), niece, Amy Dover (Russell), nephew, Mark Freudenberg (Tara), and great nieces, Rachel and Juliana Dover.
Eddie was raised in White Oak and graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1970. He attended Trevecca Nazarene College and University of TN Knoxville. Eddie learned to play the piano at an early age and would often share his music with various Sunday School Groups.
When his mother died in 2014, Chaplin Buckley Robbins encouraged him to play for weekly chapel services and Eddie accepted the challenge. Eddie would even lead the chapel service when Chaplin Robbins was absent. Eddie also enjoyed the fellowship of Calvary Bible Church.
He loved Christmas, birthday parties, bingo, and magazines.
Special thanks to Chaplin Robbins and the entire staff (both past and present) of Siskin/St. Barnabas whom he considered family for excellent care through the years.
Thanks to special friend Nancy Ables for her frequent visits along with fried chicken, one of his favorite meals. Sybil Cannon and the late Bea Austin were dear friends also.
The family will receive friends at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel from 9-10 a.m. on Friday, June 17.
A graveside service will follow at the Chattanooga Memorial Park, Pond Pavilion, at 10:30 a.m. where Eddie as a child enjoyed going with his mother to feed the ducks. Dr. Bill Henry and Chaplin Buckley Robbins officiating.
