Martha “Marie” Ownby Hefner
Martha “Marie” Ownby Hefner, 80 of Dalton, Georgia, received her ultimate healing Saturday June 18, 2022.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents Hollis and Mildred (Ridley) Ownby; sisters, Frances Ownby Mason, Lavell Ownby Arthur; and brother, James Lawrence Ownby.
Left to cherish her loving memory is her husband of 63 years Lee Roy Hefner; six children, Ira and Lynn Hefner, Marty and April Hefner, Dwayne Hefner, Gary and Cyndi Hefner, Carol and Ricky Smith, Lynette and David Ogle; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Billy Hobbs and brother, Melvin Ownby; grandchildren, Grace and Josh Key, Melissa Hefner, Noah Hefner, Beth Allen, Amber Hefner, Mattie and Robbie Chase, Andrea Smith, Blake Hefner and fiancé Abby Thomas, Trent Smith, Hannah Ogle, Cole Ogle, Daniel and Veronica Miller; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, in the Pleasant Grove Chapel with Pastor Scott Hale officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service hour at 2 p.m.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
