David Huggins
David Allen Huggins, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.
He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Aug. 23, 1949, to Paul A. and Corinne Huggins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
David retired as a sergeant from the Chattanooga Police Department after 28 years, serving in the K-9 Unit. David was a lieutenant for Chattanooga State Community College Campus Police for 13 years. He loved farming and raising animals of all kinds. David would often be found working in the hay fields. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and Paw Paw.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Huggins; his children, Allen (Shannon) Huggins, Kandy (Chip Griffin) Huggins, and Justin (Megan) Huggins; stepchildren, Tiffany (Zack Todd) Harris and David Gray; 5 grandchildren, Tristan Huggins, Christian Richards, Piper Huggins, Bodie Huggins, and Cole Griffin; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Paula McConnaughey, Beth (Jeff) Combs, and Barry (Kay) Huggins; and one nephew.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 27, at Chattanooga Funeral Home – East Chapel with Rev. Dr. Steve Rowland officiating.
A visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, at the funeral home as well as one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday, June 27. A burial will take place at Lakewood Memory Gardens East in Chattanooga.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Area 4 Tennessee Special Olympics.
