Mary Early
Mary Ruth Early, 93, of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at her home.
She was born in Chattanooga on October 28, 1928, the daughter of the late William Cureton and Irene (Bowman) Cureton.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Archie “Bill” Early, her brother, Bill Cureton, and her sister, Bobbie Morris.
Mary lived in Dayton since 1965, graduated from high school and was a homemaker. She attended Spivey Memorial United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking.
She is survived by her four children, Steve (Pam) Early of Ooltewah, Greg (Barbara) Early of Lenoir City, Jeff (Tina) Early of Danville, Va. and Donna (Todd) Locklear of Dayton; six grandchildren, Jake (Rikki) Locklear of Brecksville, Oh., Laura (Angelo Todaro) Locklear of Nashville, Beth (Cameron) Scott of Danville, VA, Spencer Early of Ct., Kirstin Early of CA and Bradley Early of Lenoir City; great-grandson, William Scott of Danville, Va.; and sister, Alice Cooper of Chattanooga.
Funeral services for Mary will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, July 7, at 6 p.m. with Jimmy Potter officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband on Friday, July 8, at 12:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family is being cared for by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, where they will receive friends on Thursday, July 7, at 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
