Jennifer “Granny” Matthews DeBord, 72, of LaFayette, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022.
Her pain is no longer felt here on earth as she has risen to Heaven as our guardian angel.
She was known by many names such as Momma, Granny, Sis, Aunt Jenny, Jen, Jenny or simply Jennifer. All those who knew her by any of those names knew she was a woman of faith and had a heart of gold. She was loved dearly and will be missed by so many.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty June Linam; and daughter, Missy Scott.
She is survived by her children, Synthia (Bo) Chastain and Shawn (Nicole) Scott; siblings, Tammy (Rod) Cenizal, and Steve (Deana) Crosswhite; grandchildren, Garrett (Kristie) Stephenson, Jamie (Arah) Scott, Summer Scott, Zan (Sarah) Thompson, Kala Parris, and Jacob Scott; great grandchildren, Garret Autry, Haiston Stephenson, Zachary Scott, Christina Sosveen, James Burns, and Ryker Thompson; nieces and nephews, Ameila Robinson, Myriah Crosswhite, Alyson Teeters (Jaden), Kara Kilgore, Kalel Kilgore, Brody Wallin, and many more nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dennis Chambers officiating. Interment will be at LaFayette City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Garrett Stephenson, Jamie Scott, Zan Thompson, Josh Duncan, Troy Lee, and Brody Wallin.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-9 p.m.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
