Noogahistory.com Uncovers Images From Chattanooga's Past

  • Thursday, September 22, 2022

Noogahistory.com, a project by Picnooga founder David Moon, has rediscovered over 30 glass plate negatives of the Chattanooga area from around 1900, with potentially more to come. Nooga History has acquired the lot and will be digitizing them soon, where they will be available on the project’s website.

The negatives are connected to a collection of over 400 glass plate negatives attributed to Charles Walline, an employee of Lovemans Department Store, at the turn of the twentieth century, and purchased through crowdfunding initiated by Mr. Moon almost eight years ago.  Since then, Mr. Moon has acquired a few other related negatives in the collection from its original source, but this more considerable lot has been a pleasant surprise, he said.

Noogahistory.com continues to crowdfund the purchase of more glass plate negatives to keep the collection intact.  The public can contribute by visiting its crowdfunding website at https://www.plumfund.com/crowdfunding/noogahistorycom.
