Curtis Hardee Hyde, Sr.

Curtis Hardee Hyde, Sr., 83, passed away at his home in Ooltewah, Tennessee, after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, September 25, 2022. 

 

Curtis spent most of his career with Combustion Engineering as a draftsman where he retired several years ago. He enjoyed trips to their condo in Florida with his wife Jean in their retirement years.  Curtis was a long-time member of the Alhambra Shrine and the Highlanders Unit and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid racing fan and avid Tennessee Volunteers football fan.

 

Curtis was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Hyde; parents, Elmer Hardee Hyde and Wilma Curtis Hyde, and his sister, Barbara Osborne.

 

He is survived by his son, Curtis Hyde, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Janice Hyde; grandson, Curtis Hyde, III “Trey”; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 30, at11 a.m. with Pastor Bennie Mills officiating.

 

Curtis will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Gardens East.
