Hunter Museum Has Opening Celebration For Memories And Inspiration Thursday

  • Wednesday, September 28, 2022

The Hunter Museum will have a celebration for the opening of Memories & Inspiration: The Kerry and C. Betty Davis Collection of African American Art on Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m.

Winding down a year of celebrating its 70th anniversary by focusing on a variety of collections, the Hunter presents an exhibition featuring an impressive private collection.

Over the past 35 years, Atlanta-based couple Kerry and Betty Davis have gathered a wide variety of stunning works by African American artists. The exhibition presents 67 selected works from this collection. Through strikingly diverse media and styles, the artists featured in this exhibit responded to historical narratives and made bold creative statements that helped shape 20th-century American art.

Regular admission applies; as always, members and youth 17 and under free.
