Silverdale Scores Early To Defeat Notre Dame, 35-0

Seahawks' Offense Potent Behind Rogers For 393 Yards

Silverdale used the prowess of Brett Rogers on the passing and receiving end to send Notre Dame to a 35-0 DII-AA East Region loss on their home field Thursday night. The visiting Seahawks used three scoring tosses by Rogers plus a Caleb Greco run and Turner Junkins pass to Rogers to heap on the points.

 

Junkins, Caiden Botts and Cameron Bowen were on the receiving end of Rogers’ touchdown tosses. Silverdale scored all their points in the first half, 14 in the first quarter and 21 in the second stanza.

 

The Seahawks ran 57 offensive snaps in amassing 393 yards, while a pugnacious Silverdale defense, led by Timothy Connor, Chase Manning and Brody Lamb, shut down the Iish offense with just 95 total yards gained.

 

Connor had five solo tackles with one for loss, as Manning and Lamb had four solo stops each. Manning had one and a half tackles for loss and Lamb had two.

 

Jaydon Kelley and Justin baker each had five tackles for the Irish. Mason Sims had four stops with three of them being for a loss.

 

Rogers was 14 of 20 passing for 174 yards, as he also ran the ball 12 times for an additional 117 yards. Bowen led the Seahawk receivers with four catches for 94 yards, including a 66 yard grab for a score. Botts hauled in seven passes for 76 yards and a score.

 

With the win Silverdale improves to 5-2 and 2-1 in the East Region of DII-AA, while the Irish slide to 1-5 and 0-4 in the region. The Seahawks travel to Knox Webb next Friday for another region contest. Notre dame is at home against Howard.
