Trump And Despots

I grew up in a small town and in the midst of World War II.  Posters in the classrooms asked kids to buy U.S. Bonds. We could for five cents buy a stamp and collect enough to get a war bond. My grandmother would give me the five cents and I could walk across the street to the bank and  get as close as a small child could get to the window of the teller.

I was very proud to be doing something, anything for the war effort..  As I got older we collected scrap metal and got 25 cents a bag for milkweed.
Parachutes?  We also had a leader that could and did speak to the people and he did so often via the big radio in the living room. Soothing and calming voice present at all times and confident that the United States in war would not lose.

What has happened to the United States; to our politics and to the divisions that are harming all of us?  I can name one leader who encourages societal divisions and frankly is a genius . It is Donald Trump. This is not praise for Trump.. This is a warning to all that Trump is dangerous and in the budding stages of creating another Hitler. . Oh I know some of the readers think he is a brilliant leader and I would agree but in what direction does Trump lead?

Trump held a rally in Pennsylvania last night and in his dress rehearsal for the presidency he told his followers that all of the woes of society are Joe Biden and the Democrats.. Trump knows no other defense and knows that his followers are not happy with the government.  Trump can and does foment anger and is the leader in the country espousing violence.. Are we safe in our  own homes with Trump speaking untruths; can we trust the wisdom of the voter and can we trust the courts and further the entire United States Judiciary.? Trump says we cannot but he cannot further provide any relevant alternative other than himself to fix it..

Trump' s presidency was a constant blaming of everyone and Republican leaders that should have said enough are so afraid of Trump they are still silent, or worse, support him.  Fear is a fragile but very powerful tool in the hands of a despot . Trump is that person. Facsism anyone? May I have the next dance?
