After bravely battling multiple strokes, Beverly Jean Stakely of Chattanooga passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Life Care of Hixson.

She was born in Chattanooga on December 20, 1935, and raised in Ringgold.

Beverly was a strong and independent loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a Christian and member of Clear Creek Church of Christ. She was recognized as an awarded realtor in Chattanooga, for over 20 years.

Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Raymond Eugene Stakely (U.S. Air Force Veteran); by her father, Herbert T. Bowman and mother, Otelia Clifton Bowman; sister, Juanita Morris; brothers, Marion “Buddy” Bowman, Leon Bowman and Troy Bowman.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Stakely Thompson (Roger) of Hixson, and Leslie Stakely Morrow (Bobby) of Ooltewah; grandchildren, Brian Owen, Brent Owen (Kelly), Brandon Owen (Congling), Nicole Morrow, Nicholas Morrow; eight great grandchildren; Sister, Joanna Sparks; brother, James “Jimmy” Bowman along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave.
