Longtime Nurse's Assistant Loved Camping, Traveling, And Time With Her Family And Friends

Hattie “Pat” Marie Gamble Bates, 79, of Ringgold, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 27, 2023.

She was born in Chattanooga on February 2, 1943, to the late Ollie A. Gamble and Nannie Loyd Gamble McGee and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. She had worked most of her life in the Healthcare Industry as a nurse’s assistant and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a very hard worker and enjoyed camping and traveling. She was a loving and devoted sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Bates, Jr., brother, Walter L. Gamble and sister, Merle Salmon.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry Williams, Angie O’Shields, Regina and (Jim) Blalock and Margie and (Glenn) Kay; sister, Aubrey L. McCurdy; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and numerous extended families and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
