Gary Alford
Gary D. Alford, Sr., 63, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, in a Villa Rica, Georgia hospital.
He was a 1977 graduate of Kirkman Technical High School. Gary retired from the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his father, Issac James Alford, Sr.; mother, Emma Mae Alford; brother, Jeffery Lebron Alford; and son-in-law, Troy Parham, Sr.
Survivors include his children, Shawnte’ Oliver, Gary (Sonya) Alford, Jr., Dana Alford, Crystal Alford, and Amanda Parham; 14 grandchildren; brothers, Issac James Alford, Jr. and Frederick Lee Alford; sisters, Donnetta King, Virginia Rose Laird, and Angela Gail Lewis; aunt, Vernell Dowdy; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends
Gary will lie in state on Sunday, Feb. 12, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Monday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
