Nancy Outen
Nancy Sylvia Outen, 85, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023.
Nancy attended Lane High School in Charlottesville, Va., and went on to attend William and Mary College on a full flute scholarship. She was an amazing musician! Nancy was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman. She was kind, she encouraged everyone around her, sought to always be a blessing, and prayed for those in need. She was a light among many of her friends. Her spirit, warmth, and beauty were some of the first impressions that most people felt upon meeting her. The world is a little less bright today without Nancy here, but we can only imagine the welcome she received as she awoke in Heaven.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Gertrude Addington; her sister, Hazel Oldaker; and her adoring husband of 65 years, James Franklin Outen.
She leaves behind one sister, Fleta Lancaster; two loving daughters, Kendall Randolph and Wendy Merrill; one son-in-law, Ricky Randolph; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews all who loved her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, Aug. 21, at 12:30 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with Felton Maughon. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the service hour at Heritage Funeral Home.
