U.S. Army Veteran Retired From CSX Railroad After 40 Years

Orison C. “Ace” Henderson, 89, of Rock Spring, Georgia, went home to be with his Savior Jesus on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

He was born on June 27, 1935, to the late Floyd and Odessa Henderson in Bryant, Al. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from CSX Railroad after 40 years of service. Orison was a devoted member of Fort Oglethorpe Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening, taking care of his yard, Alabama Football, and spending quality time with his family.

He was also preceded in death by his eight siblings, Sayman, Rayburn, Cleburn, Auburn, Houston, Juanita, Wanda, and Jean.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 67 years, Betty Mae Adams Henderson; two children, Marina and Ashley; three grandchildren, Larissa, Telela, and Cameron; two step grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jackson; seven great-grandchildren, Slade, Maximus, Annaliese, Dylan, Telelah, Memphis, and Ireland, and one step grandchild, Callahan; siblings, Don, Linda, and Brenda.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 4–8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Scott Griffith officiating.

Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
