More than 60 area children from Baylor's after-school tutoring program filled Guerry Dining Hall with holiday spirit at the annual community service party.
Gifts, games, face painting, cookie decorating, and even Mr. and Mrs. Claus (faculty members Bill Cox and Heather Ott) were a part of the highly anticipated event. Additionally, a coat drive was organized to provide warm winter coats of all sizes.
A decades old tradition, the holiday party takes place each December and honors and rewards those children at the various site locations who have demonstrated a strong dedication to their homework and extra educational and enrichment activities. The invitation list is exclusively dedicated to those children who have earned the privilege to attend.
Baylor's advisory groups as well as various departments and individual faculty and staff contribute money to provide gifts and rewards to those children who earn attendance to the party.
