Betty Couch, a resident at Regency House Assisted Living, is celebrating her 100th birthday. Mrs. Couch has lived there for over four years, and she is loved by all.
Mrs. Couch was married for 70 years. She has two children and 11 grandchildren. She has lived in Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. Among the places she has been able to visit during her lifetime, she said a trip to Europe was her favorite, while a trip to Alaska ranks second.
"My favorite holiday is Christmas," said Mrs.
Couch. "Both my grandfather and my daughter were born on Christmas day."
Some of her favorite foods are roast beef, salad, baked potato and unsweetened tea with lemonade. She loves reading the bible, genealogy and cats.
Mrs. Couch said she contributes her long life to her faith in God. Her advice to younger generations is, "Do everything for the Lord! The Lord is always first!"
