The Forgotten Child Fund announces a special event aimed at spreading holiday joy in the Greater Chattanooga area. On Tuesday, volunteers will gather at the Harrison Community Center, 5638 Hwy. 58 in Harrison at 3 p.m. to load an assortment of toys destined for families in need.
This year, the Forgotten Child Fund will deliver toys to seven of the neediest families in the community.
Officials said, "This event highlights our commitment to ensuring that every child experiences the joy of receiving gifts during the holiday season.
Following the loading of toys, volunteers will convene at Chattanooga State, 4501 Amnicola Hwy. in Chattanooga at 4 p.m. The convoy is scheduled to depart at 5:30 p.m., embarking on a mission to deliver hope and happiness directly to the families who need it most."
“We believe that every child deserves to feel loved and remembered during the holidays,” said Kelly Simmons, president of the Forgotten Child Fund. “This initiative not only provides toys but also fosters a sense of community and support for those who may be struggling this season. We encourage everyone to join us in this effort.”
The Forgotten Child Fund invites community members to participate in this event. Individuals who wish to contribute can do so by donating toys or volunteering their time.
"Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in need and ensure that the spirit of giving shines bright this holiday season," officials said.
