Foundation House Ministries Hosts 10th Anniversary Spring Banquet To Benefit Pregnant Women In Crisis

  • Tuesday, March 5, 2024
Nonprofit Foundation House Ministries will hold a banquet on Tuesday, March 19 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Westwood Baptist Church, 4001 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland. Executive Director Suzanne Burns will be celebrating 10 years since her ministry began in 2014.

"Foundation House Ministries is the only maternity home within 150 miles for mothers exiting crisis lifestyles," officials said.

Ms. Burns said, "As we celebrate 10 years of serving moms in crisis, we've learned so much from each mom.
This year we want to say thank you to our beloved supporters who sacrifice so that this ministry can continue to pour into young mothers and their children. We are truly blessed."

"Ms. Burns will also be giving an exclusive surprise announcement at the banquet that you don't want to miss," organizers said.

Foundation House gives financial, physical and emotional support to women who are pregnant or mothers with infants who struggle with addiction, homelessness and need trauma-informed care. The nonprofit also works alongside the courts to lessen jail time and seek custody for their clients.

Founded in 2012, Foundation House Ministries has served over 120 mothers through housing and over 600 mothers through non-residential support services.

Ms. Burns says the primary goal of this year’s fundraising efforts is to expand their traditional housing opportunities and to provide long-term residential support to mothers with toddlers.

"Roughly 70 percent of Foundation House clients arrive with no GED or high school diploma, and most of them have little job experience. Eighty-nine percent are former drug addicts and 85 percent were raised in chronic poverty. Foundation House offers on the job training, life skills workshops and prepares their clients for stable and sustainable independent living to break the cycle of generational poverty," officials said.
