Hiwassee Trout Anglers Encouraged To Provide Input

  • Wednesday, March 6, 2024

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) continues its process for the revision of its trout plan and is seeking comments regarding the management of the Hiwassee River Trout Fishery.

TWRA regularly revises the Hiwassee River Trout Fishery Management Plan to ensure management strategies are still effective and relevant. An in-person meeting was held at Lee University in February, with over 50 people in attendance. Staff from TVA, U.S. Forest Service, and Tellico Hatchery were on-hand to present and answer questions as well as take comments.

Anglers are encouraged to watch the online version of the presentation delivered at Lee University and to take a brief survey on the state of the fishery, providing input on ways to make improvements. The recorded presentation and survey will be available through April 4.

Anglers should visit tnwildlife.org or click on the QR code to access the presentation and information.
