Free Tai Chi Class Offered By The University of Tennessee Extension

The University of Tennessee Extension will offer free Tai Chi for Fall Prevention and Arthritis classes at two locations. This fun fitness program builds strength, balance and coordination on Tuesdays and Thursdays for four weeks. Participants are expected to attend all eight sessions. 

Classes will meet at the new Harrison Community Center (former Harrison Elementary School) on Highway 58 on May 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30 from 10-11 a.m. 

Morning and evening classes will be held at the Tennessee Riverwalk on June 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25 and 27.
Choose from 10:30-11:30 a.m. or 6-7 p.m. 

These beginner classes are for any fitness level. 

Class size is limited. Registration is required here.

For those without internet access, call UT Extension Monday-Friday at 423-209-8560 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. to register by phone. 

Exercises are comparable to moderate walking. Check with your health care provider for any medical concerns. Wear sturdy shoes (such as tennis shoes) and comfortable clothing.
