Mae Roberts Arnold
Mae Roberts Arnold, 87, of Ringgold, Georgia, left her earthly home for her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
She was born in Columbia, Tn., on April 29, 1937, to parents, Andrew and Ova Roberts. Mae and her family moved to the North Georgia area in her early teen years.
Mae graduated from Lakeview High School, class of 1955. After graduating, she met the love of her life, Johnny Arnold, at a local county fair. They married two years later. She was a member of East Ridge Church of Christ for over 50 years where she was involved in many activities, including The Cradle Roll class. Mae worked for Combustion Engineering but left her job to be a care giver to her mother-in-law. Afterwards, she spent her time as a “Nana” and a “Dede” to her grandchildren, Alex and Will. They formed a special bond during these years that will last a lifetime. Mae is also known to many who she loved as “Granny Mae” and as “Gigi”.
Mae and her husband, Johnny enjoyed traveling together and with their family. She enjoyed hosting family events and many holiday meals. Mae along with two special friends, Wanda and Louise, would enjoy lunch and then would share the love of Christ with “shut ins” from their congregation. Serving the Lord brought her great joy. She will be deeply missed by her family who loved her so much. Her daughters feel so blessed and grateful to have had her as their mother.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Johnny Arnold; and her parents, Andrew and Ova Roberts.
Those left to cherish her precious memory are her daughters, Tammy (DeWayne) Walker and Sherry (Ron) Anthony; grandchildren, Alex (Jackson) Hensley, Will Anthony, Brittany (Craig) Dedmon, Matt Anthony, Mike (Amanda) Anthony, and Brandon Walker; great-grandchildren, Kailyn, Myleigh, Bradley, and Graham; a sister, Judi Hinnard; nephew, Tim (Andrea) Hinnard, niece, Stacy (Scott) Wilson; great nieces, Bianca and Kaylyn; great nephew, Andrew; several cousins and other extended family members.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Rhonda Hutchins and Renee Brewer for all the wonderful care and love they gave their parents over the last two years.
