On Friday, January 10, at 7 p.m., the Clara Ward School of Nursing at Bryan College will hold its 2nd Annual Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) White Coat Ceremony. This special event, taking place
in Osborne Hall at the Stophel Welcome Center, celebrates future nursing professionals who are dedicated to compassionate care, clinical excellence, and embodying the mission of the Bryan College Nursing Program to utilize skill, ingenuity, and grace in meeting the world’s changing needs, all while representing the Lord Jesus.
Carly McAuley will be the keynote speaker for the ceremony. A registered nurse with over 20 years of experience in healthcare and community service, Carly is currently the Executive Director of The Care Center. She brings her clinical knowledge and strong faith to foster a culture of excellence and compassion.
Dr. Pamela Giles, Dean and Professor of the Clara Ward School of Nursing, shared her excitement: “We are thrilled to gather with our students, their families, and friends as we celebrate this important moment in their nursing education. The white coat symbolizes their transition to clinical practice and their unwavering commitment to serve others, aligned with our mission to prepare them for the evolving demands of the nursing profession.”
During the ceremony, students will receive their white coats, lamps, and New Testament Bibles, emphasizing the importance of faith in their nursing practice. The ceremony will also include a recitation of the Florence Nightingale Pledge and the anointing of students’ hands with oil, reminding them of the vital responsibilities they will assume as caregivers.
The evening will conclude with a reception in Osborne Hall, offering a chance for participants and attendees to celebrate together in community and faith.
