6 People Sent To Hospitals After Chemical Exposure Incident At M&M Mars Facility In Cleveland

Shortly after 9 a.m. Friday morning, Bradley County EMS and the Cleveland Fire Department responded to a chemical exposure incident at the M&M Mars facility on Peerless Road in Cleveland.

A total of seven people were evaluated by on-scene medical personnel. One patient was transported to Erlanger Medical Center, five were transported to Bradley Medical Center for further evaluation, and one patient was treated and released at the scene. All responding agencies operated in coordination to assess, treat, and safely transport those affected.

At this time, there is no danger to the public and no ongoing threat beyond the facility. Operations within the affected area of the plant were temporarily paused out of an abundance of caution.

Bradley County EMS extends appreciation to the Cleveland Fire Department, plant leadership, and on-site safety personnel for their prompt cooperation and coordinated response. Further details may be released as information becomes available.
