Grand Opening Event For The Lantern At Morning Pointe East Hamilton Set For July 17

  • Friday, June 6, 2025
The grand opening at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of East Hamilton at 1775 Generations Way (9700 Block E. Brainerd Road), is set for Thursday, July 17. The event will start at 4 p.m., with a formal ribbon-cutting at 4:30 p.m. Friends, families, volunteers and medical partners will come together for a special program as local and state leaders, along with area resources, share their insight on this exciting expansion and what it means for serving the growing senior population in East Hamilton County.

"A resident, Jannie Solof smiles brightly as she embraces Resident Assistant Chrissy Prestage—just one of many new friendships that form at Morning Pointe memory care communities," officials said.
"It’s these small but powerful moments of connection that define life at Morning Pointe Senior Living. Since The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, East Hamilton opened in May, the all-memory-care community has welcomed dozens of residents, each one beginning a new chapter filled with support, structure and meaningful relationships."

“Families are truly embracing this new memory care community on the rapidly growing east side of Hamilton County,” said Greg A. Vital, Morning Pointe Senior Living co-founder and president. “With the growing prevalence of Alzheimer’s and other dementias, we are honored to be able to offer support and service to more citizens living with the disease, and to their families.”

The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, East Hamilton, has 60 apartments and two distinct levels of memory care. The Lamplight neighborhood is a large area for residents with early-stage Alzheimer’s and dementia who are more active, while the Lantern wing provides a more intimate and quiet space designed for more advanced stages. Several floor plan choices include studios and companion two-bedroom apartments, such as for
couples.

“We are excited to celebrate with our wider community as we offer more choices for care for aging seniors and families to stay close together in the area they love,” said Lindsey Hughes, executive director at The Lantern.

To tour the community, learn more information or make a reservation for a loved one with dementia, call 423-973-0003.

The Lantern at Morning Pointe is bringing 60 new healthcare jobs to the area and is projected to contribute more than $25 million annually in economic impact through local partnerships, payroll and the purchase of goods and services, officials said.

With the growth of the campus, the original building at 1776 Generations Way is now MorningPointe of East Hamilton Assisted Living. It is also taking reservations for new residents and has begun renovations of the former memory care wing, transforming it into Signature Studio apartments, cozy gathering spaces, a coffee station and a library. For inquiries, call 423-212-1208, or stop by the community.
