Woman Scammed - And Other East Ridge Police Calls

Day Shift July 17: A Squad

25-007572- 3900 BLK Ringgold Road-Deceptive Practice
Police spoke with party by phone who advised police that on July 16 she received a pop-up message on her computer with a 1-800 phone number to call. When speaking with an unknown subject at the number she was advised the party worked for Microsoft and her bank accounts were at risk. She was instructed to withdraw all the money from her accounts and deposit it into an
ATM. She was provided with a passcode for the machine and ultimately deposited a large amount of currency in cash.
She requested to report make a report due to now believing that she was scammed.

25-007567 – 400 BLK Alice Drive – Disorder
Police responded to the duplex after an agreement over vehicle repairs and a tow could not be worked out among all involved. The parties agreed to handle the issue in a civil manner and to release the vehicle to the owner after a brief discussion with police.

25-007575 – 3500 BLK Ringgold Road - Brush Fire
Police and Fire responded to the shoulder of the westbound lane after the grass caught fire in multiple areas. Quick acting employees from a nearby business assembled a fire brigade and extinguished the flames.

25-007569 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Rd. – Disorder
Police were dispatched to the inn on reports of a female guest refusing to leave. Officers spoke with a party who stated she was unaware of the 11 o’clock check out time. Police advised her that she needed to vacate the hotel room. The woman agreed and officers stood by while she gathered her
belongings.

25-007571- 60 BLK Frawley Rd. - Domestic Disorder
A man and his had broken up and he was attempting to gather his belongings. The woman substantiated his claim; however, she advised it was her belongings he was taking. Police stood by as disorder prevention and gave the man a courtesy ride to his home on Spring Creek.

25-007577 – 5700 BLK Ringgold Road - Domestic Disorder

Police spoke with the reporting party who stated that she and her wife (or ex-wife), were involved in a verbal altercation. She also reported that during the argument, she was told to exit the vehicle at an unspecified location in town. The reporting party declined to do so. Officers advised both parties to separate for the remainder of the day, and both individuals agreed to comply.

Night Shift July 17: C Squad
25-007586 – 5600 BLK Ringgold Road - Public Intoxication/Arrest
Police were conducting a business check at a local restaurant when a male was observed outside acting strangely. Officers identified the man and observed him to be intoxicated and unsure of his current location. He was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to the Hamilton
County Jail.
