Brenda Joyce Tapp, 84, of Lookout Valley, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Born on Jan. 26, 1941, in Corinth, Ms., she was the daughter of Kennie and Elsie Borden. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. After being a stay-at-home mom for many years, she worked for Sathers Candy Company and Covenant Transport as an executive assistant.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who called her “Mimi”.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John “Eddie” Tapp, parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kennie Borden, sisters, Imogene Floyd (Leroy), Violia Floyd, brothers, Ezra Borden (Frances), Norman Borden and Jerry Borden, and brother-in-law, Pete Crum.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, John Tapp II (Stacy), granddaughters, Mattie and Macy Tapp, siblings, Linda Crum, Nadine Leatherwood (Almous), Wanda Hodum (Gary), Bobby Borden (Barbara), several nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Johnnye Borden and many dear friends.

Per her wishes there will be no formal services.

The family would like to thank both Life Care Center of Collegedale and Hearth Hospice.
