Ronnie Hilton Hoyle, 78, of Rossville, Georgia, was called home on July 16, 2025.

Born in Rome, Georgia, Ronnie was the son of the late Cecil Robert Hoyle and Beulah Lee Crowe Hoyle. He was of the Christian faith and a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area.

Ronnie was a graduate of Lakeview High School, class of 1963. He attended the University of Chattanooga and he was a proud member of the U.S. National Guard.

Ronnie spent over 31 years in the construction industry, where he skillfully operated cranes and transported large loads across the country. His career took him far and wide, but he always called North Georgia home. Known for his strong work ethic and hands-on knowledge, Ronnie took pride in sharing his skills—whether working with his hands, building projects, or fishing with family.

A simple man with a generous heart, Ronnie found joy in music, family, and sports. His grandchildren’s sporting events filled him with pride and he enjoyed reminiscing with friends and family about his extensive career and travels.

Ronnie was also a fan of the Atlanta Braves, NASCAR, Top Fuel racing, the University of Tennessee athletics, and loved the freedom of the open road on his Harley.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Kristy Penney; grandchildren, Shonna Penney and Zane Penney; sister, Sheila (Ken) Hall; niece, Lori Hall Overmyer; and nephews, Rusty Hall and Tyler Hall, along with their families and many cousins.

Ronnie’s life was marked by dedication—to his family, his work, and his roots. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 21, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Layne Pennington officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the service on Monday.

The family would like to thank the hospital staff at CHI Memorial for their care of Mr. Ronnie.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org, which was one of his favorite charities.

Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Fort Oglethorpe.
