Chattanooga Man Charged In Rossville Murder Investigation

A 38-year-old Walker County man is dead from a gunshot wound late Sunday, according to Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson, and a Chattanooga man has been arrested.

Deputies were called to a residence on Gilbert Street in Rossville on Monday afternoon in order to do a welfare check on the male occupant. Upon examination of the residence, deputies found Robin Fredale Sutton deceased.

Walker County detectives and Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents were requested to investigate the death. Following investigative leads early Tuesday morning, detectives and agents were directed to a residence at 210 S. Howell Ave. in Chattanooga.

At this residence, 28-year-old Jermaine Matthew Jackson, was arrested on a Tennessee warrant and taken to the East Ridge Police Department for questioning in Sutton’s death.

At around noon on Tuesday, a warrant was obtained in Walker County charging Jackson with the offense of murder in Mr. Sutton’s death.

The motive for the murder is unknown.
