Bethel Bible Village: Development and Fundraising

Looking for a challenge? Hoping to make a difference?

If your superpowers include vision for the future, passion for a cause, and the ability to motivate others to be a part of something bigger — we have a mission for you.

Bethel is looking for a hero who can take an established nonprofit to the next level and a new generation. Bethel serves kids and families in crisis with temporary residential care, counseling, equine therapy, an accredited campus school and so much more.

Why Bethel? You need only to read today’s headlines to see why Bethel is essential to our region. The same trends that are fracturing families and leaving children in trauma underscore the absolute need for Bethel’s faith-based solutions.

As Development and Fundraising Coordinator, you will work closely with top leadership and a three-person development team. Your office is located on our beautiful campus in Hixson, TN but your time will be spent meeting with major donors, foundations, and organizations in our region to further our future.

This is an excellent opportunity to take business experience in strategy, business development, and relationship building and use it for a greater purpose. Additional experience with a nonprofit is helpful, whether as an employee or if you have volunteered in a leadership/loaned executive role.

Qualifications
• Spiritual/Membership: We are a Christian organization and our employees are active members of Evangelical churches who live out their faith vibrantly in their personal and professional lives.
• Education/Experience: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Relevant experience in a growing environment of development, fundraising, storytelling, partnerships and collaborations, special events, and staff leadership for an organization is preferred. Experience in nonprofit development and Major Gifts in the Greater Chattanooga area is a plus. Media-friendly and willing to tell Bethel’s story on camera.
• Development: Implement a comprehensive development strategy aligned with the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards and Biblical principles befitting a Christian organization.
• Fundraising: Experience with donor relationship software, giving platforms, prospecting, special events, and the processes of donor-advised funds, corporations, foundations, and churches.
• Other Requirements: You must be lawfully authorized to work in the U.S. and successfully pass a background check, TB test, drug screen, and physical.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position. General work days/hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; however, this position often requires flexible hours and occasional evening and weekend work.

Roy Exum: VW Needs Big Repairs

The banner headline on Monday morning read, “Gov. Lee, top Republicans celebrate failed UAW bid to unionize Volkswagen,” and that’s the second-worst thing that the headline could have said. The worst, of course, is if the UAW had won, and the Detroit-based union that lost 35,000 members last year would be revived -- breaking a hole into the tight wall of foreign-owned auto assembly ...
