"Mr. Chapman brings years of experience in the quantum computing industry, which Chattanooga is positioned to lead unparalleled resources like UTC’s Smart Corridor, Chattanooga Quantum Collaborative and EPB’s Quantum Network," officials said.

“The work Mr.
Chapman is doing with IonQ is the start of a new revolution throughout the country, if not the world,” said CO.LAB CEO Tasia Malakasis. “As our world continues to find new, cleaner and quicker ways to solve everyday problems, Mr. Chapman is consistently one step ahead. His knowledge and innovation is unmatched.”

Mr. Chapman’s keynote, "Building Tomorrow’s Quantum Now," will give audience members a deeper understanding of the transformative power of trapped ion quantum computing and its implications for the future of the industry. The talk will be moderated by Bob Corker, former U.S. senator and Chattanooga mayor.

“We’re excited to have Peter Chapman leading the lineup of expert speakers who are addressing how quantum stands to impact economic development and key verticals such as logistics, healthcare, financial services and energy,” said Charlie Brock, CEO of Chattanooga Quantum Collaborative.

Mr. Chapman’s keynote will be followed by an additional keynote address from Eric Ries, author of "The Lean Startup," along with 60+ other speakers and 13+ workshops for attendees. The event is expected to generate hundreds of attendees from across the country, officials said.

“We launched EPB Quantum Network as a resource for positioning Chattanooga to benefit from the emerging quantum technology sector,” said EPB CEO David Wade. “Working with CO.LAB and Chattanooga Quantum Collaborative to engage with quantum industry leaders like Peter Chapman and entrepreneurial experts like Eric Ries is an important way of cultivating our community’s quantum ecosystem, so local people and companies can benefit from these newly emerging economic opportunities.”
