BlueCross Names Criswell, Andrews To Senior Finance Role; EVP & CFO John Giblin Has Retired

David Criswell officially succeeded John Giblin as executive vice president and chief financial offer at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, following Mr. Giblin’s planned retirement on May 1. Amy Andrews, the organization's current director of strategic planning, will elevate into Mr. Criswell’s former role as vice president, treasurer and chief risk officer beginning May 13.

“They’ve both advanced their careers in BlueCross, and this is a well-deserved recognition of their experience.”

Mr. Criswell joined BlueCross in 2007 and has held several roles in the finance division that have steadily increased his areas of oversight, supporting the company on a variety of initiatives. As EVP and CFO, Mr. Criswell bears responsibility for ensuring the company’s finance and enterprise information technology divisions support the needs of members and customers throughout the state. He has worked closely with Mr. Giblin over the past six months to ensure a seamless transition.

Ms. Andrews began her BlueCross finance career in 2011 as an enterprise business consultant, gaining experience and additional responsibilities in several posts over the past 13 years. In her new position, Ms. Andrews is responsible for the leadership and direction of corporate treasury activities including planning, investments, budgeting and risk management. She will also manage teams responsible for strategic initiatives and matching business needs with innovative solutions.

Mr. Criswell earned a master of business administration and a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Ms. Andrews earned both her master of taxation and bachelor of accountancy degrees from the University of Mississippi, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Both Mr. Criswell and Ms. Andrews are licensed as certified public accountants. Mr. Criswell is a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs.
