Covenant's Mary Elaine Mitchell Named First Team All Conference

The Collegiate Conference of the South on Wednesday announced its 2024 Softball All-Conference teams with one Covenant student-athlete making the cut.

Senior outfielder Mary Elaine Mitchell received First Team Honors after a strong season for the Scots. 

The Macon, Georgia native led Covenant in several statistical categories with a .409 batting average, 38 hits, 28 runs scored, and 17 RBIs. Mitchell also had six doubles and three triples on the season. Other offensive numbers include a .481 on-base percentage and a .538 slugging percentage. 

In the field, she was near perfect with a .983 fielding percentage with 54 putouts, three assists, and just one error. 

Next up for Mary Elaine is Law School, where she plans on attending Samford's Cumberland School of Law in the fall.
