Jonathan Gain, a senior track athlete from Chattanooga Christian School was announced as the 2024 FCA Christian Athlete of the Year at a ceremony held Sunday afternoon, May 5th , at Ridgedale Baptist Church. Gain holds the school record time in the 400 meter dash and has committed to Bryan College to join the Lions' track team. He plans to major in engineering. About Gain, local FCA Director Jay Fowler stated, “Jonathan has been an outstanding leader of character on his campus and we are thrilled to present him with this award and the Gerald Sinkfield Memorial Scholarship.”
Maggie Rickerd from East Hamilton and Kaylee Smith from Sale Creek were also recognized among the 16 senior candidates as co-2nd place winners and will receive scholarship assistance. Rickerd, a standout soccer goalie, plans to continue her athletic career at Dalton State University. Smith was a part of Sale Creek’s 2023 State Championship volleyball team and she plans to attend Middle Tennesee State University.
