UTC Women's Track And Field Travels To SoCon Championship

 The Chattanooga women’s track and field team is set to compete in the Southern Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Samford Monday and Tuesday in Birmingham, Ala.
                                         
“We have had a great outdoor season and the girls are ready to compete hard in their events,” Chattanooga head coach Andy Meyer said.

The Mocs get started late Monday with the 400 meter dash at 6:10 p.m.
Eastern time. Brooke Tyll and Ava McGue will run in the second heat. The women’s 800 meter gets its start at 6:50 p.m. Lexi Foley and Kennedy Reynolds are slated for the first heat and Olivia Steele will run the second.

Sarah Unterholzner will close out the day for Chattanooga with the 400 meter Hurdles at 7:35 p.m.

The second day gets started with Ava McGue in the high jump at 4:00 p.m. Eastern time. The 4x100 meter relay will run at 4:10 p.m.

Andrea Ellis will try her hand at the shot put at 4:30 p.m. while the women’s 1500 meter run is underway on the track. Maddie Wheatcroft and Leah Boyd will lead a crew of Mocs runners including Kathryn Vradenburgh, Kennedy Reynolds, Michaela Dabney and Lexi Foley.

Vradenburgh, Wheatcroft and Boyd along with Allie Potter, Hannah Dearing and Lola Baker will run the 5000 meter run at 7:05 p.m. and the meet closes out with the 4x400 meter relay at 7:35 p.m.

“This will be the last meet for Allie Potter, Hannah Dearing and Kathryn Vradenburgh. “All three of these young ladies have been a pleasure to coach and we will miss them greatly. They all three make great grades and each and every day they have given us their very best effort. They have had such a great attitude for their time here.
