UTC's Unterholzner Qualifies For 400 Meter Hurdles

Chattanooga wraps up the first day of the Southern Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Samford Track and Soccer Stadium in Birmingham, Ala.

Sarah Unterholzner qualified for the 400 meter hurdles final on Tuesday. She ran the race in a time of 1:08.14, earning her a spot in the final.

Freshmen Ava McGue and Brooke Tyll got the meet started for Chattanooga in the 400 meter dash. McGue finished with a time of 1:02.06 and Tyll ran a personal record time in the race.

In the 800 meter run, Lexi Foley ran a personal best in the first heat, but just missed out on qualifying for the final by 0.08 seconds.
Kennedy Reynolds ran a PR in the first heat while Olivia Steele improved her time as well, setting a PR. 

Tuesday’s events will get started at 4:00 p.m. Eastern time with McGue in the high jump. The Mocs 4x100 meter team will run at 4:10 p.m. and at 4:30, Andrea Ellis will take part in the shot put and six Mocs will run the 1500 meter.

The 400 meter Hurdles final starts at 7:10 p.m. and the women’s 5000 meter run is set to start at 8:05 p.m. and the 4x400 meter relay wraps up the Mocs at the championships.
