U.S. Air Force Veteran Held Long Career With Warehouse Supervisor

Mark Wayne Windon, 63, of Chattanooga passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at his home.

Mark was a man of deep spirituality and great faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member and Chaplain of American Legion Post 257. He was employed with Ryerson Steel as Warehouse Supervisor with 36 years of service. He had a heart of love and spent much of his time volunteering in his community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Velma Windon and a brother, Russell Windon.

Survivors include his daughter, Danielle (Ben) Kailing and Rusty (Renee) Lowry; three grandchildren, Elise, Elliott and Elijah; two brothers, Gary Windon and Roger (Mariann) Windon; several nieces and nephews and the uncountable people he inspired by his example.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with Dr. Joel Kailing officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
