Luther Joe “LJ” Wolfe, Jr., 89, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024.

LJ was born in Chattanooga, the son of the late Luther Joe Wolfe and Lillie Wolfe. He retired from the United States Army after 28 years of service and later retired from the Dalton Post Office after 20 years of service. LJ was a member of the American Legion Post #95 in East Ridge. He loved his family and enjoyed playing cards and bowling.

In addition to his parents, Luther was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia M. Wolfe.

Survivors include a son, John Wolfe (Sandy); daughter, Joanne Singleton; grandchildren, Erin Perez (Javi), Christopher Wolfe (Sofia), Zachary Wolfe (Kaylee), and Jacob Singleton; and a great-grandson, Wren Robert Wolfe.

A Celebration of Life will be on Monday, May 6, at noon at Heritage Funeral Home with Dr. Tony Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.
