Beloved Woman is celebrating four years of helping women create pathways to a living wage through entrepreneurship in Chattanooga. A night of music, comedy and community will be held on Thursday, May 23, 7 p.m. at Barking Legs Theater to celebrate.
Award winning songwriter and former Mercury Records recording artist, Sherry Cothran, will be joined by her band, 30 Grit, and perform her new album, “REV.” Joining her will be special guest, Chattanooga's celebrity comedian, MS LOL, a 2024 graduate of Beloved Woman. The evening is a benefit for Beloved Woman.
About the performers:
Sherry Cothran was the lead singer of a popular rock band, The Evinrudes, who had a hit song in the late 90's on rock radio and record deals on Mercury Records, NY and Flying Sparks, London. She shared stages with many rock acts of the late 90's, including Bare Naked Ladies, Goo Goo Dolls, Spin Doctors, and others. After leaving the band, she continued to make music as an award winning songwriter with three solo albums, gained critical acclaim, placed songs in movie, TV and radio while attending Vanderbilt Divinity, getting an M.Div. and becoming a United Methodist minister. Sherry recently reunited with The Evinrudes to create her new album and is sharing her music for a cause, Beloved Woman, a nonprofit she founded in Chattanooga to help women create a pathway to a living wage through entrepreneurship.
MS. LOL, a 2024 Beloved Woman graduate, will open the show. With a huge following on Tik Tok, MS. LOL has performed across the nation at iconic venues such as the Laugh Factory in Hollywood to the Apollo Theater in Harlem. You don't want to miss a moment of her unique, clean comedy routine.
