Robert Grady Love, 83, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

He was born in Paw Creek, NC to the late Robert and Nancy Love.

Grady attended Erskine College in Due West, SC, on a tennis scholarship. After feeling called to the ministry of being a pastor, he went on to receive his Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary. His ministry began in Wetumpka, Al., at First Presbyterian Church. He served faithfully, with his beloved wife Gini, for the rest of his life. He pastored at Brainerd Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga; Northside Presbyterian Church in Burlington, NC; Midway Presbyterian Church in Anderson, SC; Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Abbeville, SC; Providence Presbyterian Church, Spartanburg; Smyrna Presbyterian Church, Smyrna; Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Brevard, NC; Story Memorial Presbyterian Church in Marian, NC. He was a founding member of the Presbyterian Church in America.

Grady was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and pastor. He lived out his love for the Lord in how he cared for his family and others. He was gifted in walking alongside and pointing his congregations to Jesus and His truth. His marriage to his wife, Gini, was a beautiful love story. They lived with mutual respect and admiration for each other, modeling for those around them a marriage centered on Christ. Their faith and commitment to one another was evident in how they lived their lives.

Grady loved a good joke, driving Ford Mustangs, and the North Carolina mountains. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, tennis, and golf. He especially loved following the Tar Heels! He will be greatly missed.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 60 years, Gini; children, Lynn Love Erickson (Todd), Robbie Love (Kari), Kelly Love Perkins (Kris); grandchildren, Ben, Zach (Mary Katherine) and Ellie Erickson, Robert and Anna Grace Love, Mackenzie, Emma and Caden Perkins.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, at Restoration Southside Church, 3146 Broad Street, Chattanooga, Tn. 37408.

A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the church with Rev. D. Todd Erickson and Ben Hooper officiating.
