Deputy Tim Cash
Marion County Deputy Tim Cash was injured in a head-on crash on Sunday night, along with four people who were in a Toyota that crossed the center line.
The Sheriff's Office said, "He as well as the other parties involved sustained injuries and were transported to hospitals.
"We ask for everyone to keep all subjects involved in this accident, in your thoughts and prayers for speedy and complete healing.
"This accident is still under investigation by Tennessee Highway Patrol.
We have no further information or comment at this time."
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the wreck happened around 10 p.m. on Highway 41. A 2024 Toyota RAV4 was heading west and the deputy going east when the Toyota veered across the line.
It was driven by Rumitkumar Patel, 41, from Alabama. He was charged with failure to maintain lane.
He and his three passengers were all injured.
The THP said neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
