Bobby Gene Suggs, loving husband and father, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 19, 2024.

Bobby was born in Rossville, Ga on June 9, 1931 and was the longest member of South Rossville Baptist Church. He said he had been a member since before he was born. He was a graduate of Rossville High School graduating class of 1948. He was in the 42nd Airborne as a paratrooper when he met his wife, Eva Catherine Suggs. They were married 70 years with two children, Gregory Stephen Suggs and Robert Michael Suggs.

He worked in Trenton, Ga., with his father at Standard Oil Company and began his own business Suggs Propane Gas Company in 1960 when he was 29 years old. His business is still operating after 60 years. He is known and loved by many in the community.

He loved Tennessee Walking Horses and bird hunting with his friends. He also loved his home farm and running his tractor and equipment. Above all he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife Cathy Suggs, sons Greg Suggs and Rob Suggs (Kim Suggs). His grandchildren Ethan Suggs, Samantha Smith, Lisa Parker, and Chris Suggs. Great grandchildren, Saylor, Chloe, (soon to arrive) Ella, Layla and Luke.

A graveside service with family and close friends per his wishes will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, in Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

All arrangements are by Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, Ga.
