Dr. George Nerren will join the Lee University faculty this spring in the Helen DeVos College of Education as a Professor of Education.
Dr. Nerren served as a Senior Consultant for the Center for Educational Leadership. Previously, he served as the Deputy Director of the Tennessee School Boards Association, superintendent for the Dyersburg City Schools system.
He served as the superintendent for the Dyersburg City Schools System from 1988-1994 and held the same position with the Bradley County Schools System from 1984-1988.
He also served as a teacher at Bradley Central High School (1978-1984), Waterville Elementary (1974-1978), and Charleston School.
Dr. Nerren received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science/Sociology from Middle Tennessee State University, the M.Ed. in Education Administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
He holds professional memberships with Phi Delta Kappa, the American Association of School Administrators, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the Council of State Advocates in Legislative Services. He has had numerous papers published and has made dozens of presentations over the years.
