Riley Tatum
Riley H. Tatum, 80, of Chattanooga, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, in a local hospital.
He was born in Lewisburg, Tenn. to the late Webb and Dorothy Tatum.
He was a member of Brainerd Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was a former employee for the Chattanooga News Free Press and was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie Tatum; sons and daughters-in-law, Alan Dee Tatum of Pensacola, Fla. John Riley (Angela) Tatum of Locust Grove, Ga.; Dwayne Wendell (Julianne) Tatum of Rock Spring, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the East Chapel with Minister Bruce Wooley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Active pallbearers will be John Morgan, Steve Bennett, Glen Welden, Bob Newsom, Bobby Milam, David Crownover, David McGee and Paul Merriam. Lester Walters will serve as honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel 404 South Moore Road.
