  • Friday, May 2, 2008

Jerry Jones, who was convicted of killing his former girlfriend's parents, sister and their 10-month old daughter, was sentenced Friday by a jury in Gordon County, Ga., to the death penalty.

After the January 2004 murders, Jones was pursued on I-75 and he was finally captured on Ringgold Road in East Ridge.

The jury was out for an hour on Thursday and three hours Friday before announcing its decision.

The victims were Tommy Blaylock, 59; Nola Blaylock, 61; Georgia Bradley, 34, and his infant daughter, Jerri Jones.

Prosecutors said Jones was trying to get back on his former girlfriend, Melissa Peeler, mother of Jerri Jones, for leaving him.
