Lucie Wallace, 69, a physical therapist in Chattanooga for the past 20 years, died on Saturday, June 21, 2008, of leukemia in the Hospice of Chattanooga Unit at Memorial Hospital.

Lucie was born in Switzerland and moved to the United States in 1967. She lived in New York, Virginia and Tennessee, becoming a citizen in 2000. She obtained a bachelor's degree to practice physical therapy from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., in 1982. She moved to Tennessee that same year, living first in Knoxville and then in Chattanooga.

Lucie is survived by two daughters, Carole Helmandollar of Leesburg, Va., and Sandy Haas of Chattanooga; as well as three grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Heidi Brodard of Switzerland, as well as a niece and nephew.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Betsy Kammerdiener officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
