Brad Walker Orchestra Performs At Dance For Hope Nov. 10

The Brad Walker Orchestra, featuring Valerie Duke, will perform in the St. Jude Family Life Center, 930 Ashland Terr., on Saturday, Nov. 10 for the Dance of Hope.  

Guests may dance the night away or sit back and listen to the Big Band music of the 30’s and 40’s.  Social hour is from 7-8 p.m. with heavy hors d’oeuvres and free ballroom dance lessons.  Dance from 8-11 p.m.  

Cost is $35 per individual, $20 per student, $250 for table of 8 and includes wine and cash bar.  For tickets, call 544-4445 or 774-1160.

Sheriff Hammond Says $4 Million Needed To Put SROs In All Hamilton County Schools

Sheriff Jim Hammond on Thursday night told members of the County School Board that $4 million is needed to provide School Resource Officers for all of the 79 schools. Juvenile Court Judge Rob Philyaw told a federal jury on Thursday that the fact Elizabeth Gentzler is openly gay had no part in his decision not to reappoint her as a magistrate. "Absolutely not.
