Cleveland State Students Learn About Substance Abuse Prevention

The Cleveland State Community College Social Work students participated in a service learning activity on substance abuse prevention.  

Each student created an informative public service announcement which was shown on the internal television screens in the George L. Mathis Student Center and also provided informational displays and literature during the drug abuse prevention awareness event.  

Topics included prevention of drunk driving and binge drinking, recognizing differences between candy and medications, alternative coping/relaxation techniques, smoking cessation, fetal alcohol syndrome, inhalant abuse and club drug abuse prevention, and treatment options for addiction.
